Brand and Advertising Copywriter
As far back as I can remember, around 7 years old, I always wanted to be a writer. I wrote my own James Bond and Indiana Jones stories when I was a kid. I won essay competitions and even the poetry prize at school. At university I studied English, Film and Creative Writing.
In the 20 years since then I pursued a career in brand and advertising managing creative projects. I worked in-house at London 2012 and agency-side at some of London’s most renowned global brand and advertising shops. I also gained lots of experience as a creative copywriter, creating positioning and campaigns for wonderful organisations such as the RHS, The British Music Experience, and Médecins Sans Frontières. Sitting down with a blank page and a pen crafting copy and ideas have been the happiest times in my career.
All of the skills that I have learnt in the industry combined with a passion for writing that is as strong as when I was 7 makes me a great brand and advertising writer. A better writer than I think I am but of course not as good as I’d like to be. That relentless and ultimately pointless strive for perfection is what keeps my writing fresh.
I have over 20 years experience in the world of brand and advertising and over 40 years experience of writing. I am now studying for an MA in Writing for Script and Screen at Falmouth University to broaden my skillset even further. I’m sure that I can help with whatever writing challenge that you have.
